What can I say about it...long day waiting at the airport. Got here too early but glad the check in's are done. Money exchange, flight check in, ticket check, airport security, US Customs pre-clear, another security scan, and now waiting on the lift to open up so wr can get to the gate and wait some more! Oh well, it's been a fun trip but I'm ready to be in my own bed again.

Today was a bit of an lazy morning. We got our things together and made the drive back to Dublin. To the Hilton Airport hotel early but it checked in ok.
Then drove around looking for place to eat. Ended up at The Goblet in a small town near the hotel. Good food! They had a kind of serving line going with several kinds of meats and veggies. There were alot of what seemed to be locals streaming in while we were there.
Back to the hotel where we hung around for a bit waiting on Christina to call. We met her at Phoenix park at the Arts in Action festival. That was a really cool venue. There...

We walked ourselves to death today. As soon as we walked out the hotel we were greeted with the tour bus hop on hop off guys. They were funny! The red guy was talking to us and another one came over. He was the blue bus but said he had a red jacket cause he was tired of the red guys taking all his business ! They were really pickin at each other. All in fun. So we walked in the direction and was met by another red guy who walked us to the ticket place and got us a discount £10.
Got on and rode over to the Titanic attraction where we were disappointed. Could not get in because they were sold...

At last, the long drive to Northern Ireland and Belfast. It's a good 5 hour drive from Galway. We finally had some good radio entertainment! They all talk a little too much in the mornings. We wanted music but got sucked into a station that was running a scifi theme song trivia thing where people were calling in and competing. It was in honor of Star Wars day May 4th. We listened until it went off at lunch. There was a cute little story about a mom looking for a Titanic model. Because her three year old asked somethig about Captain Smith and it led to Titanic hitting an iceberg. He was fascinated...

Got going a little late today and it was raining. But the farther north we drove the clearer it got. Turned out to be an awesome day!!
Filled the car with diesel and figured out we got roughly 48 mpg. (847 km / 42.2 liters then translated to mpg). We have gone more than 500 miles so far.
Took a side trip to see the Cliffs of Moher and found some really awesome scenery! Just did get there before a huge group of tour busses with kids arrived. We've been lucky missing the tour groups.
Ate lunch at a small pub in Doolin and found out after our food came it was a tourist trap. People started...

So today we drove out from Killarney around the Ring of Kerry. The weather opened up to be absolutely beautiful !!! It could not have been a prettier day! Warm and sunny with blue sky an white clouds! We saw oceans, mountains, forests, and hillsides. The sheep were hilarious. They roam the hillsides and the fencing is not so good. In several places they were standing in the road.
Angie is getting better with the driving. Actually enjoying the drive now! We were whipping around the curves and past cars on roads that are too small to pass.
Ate lunch at a small town called Smead at the Villiage...

We found out last night a tour bus full of seniors was staying at our hotel. So we decided to get up really early and try to beat then out. Cause they were likely to be headed to the Blarney Castle like us. Got down to breakfast and sure enough, there are 50 seniors all in there eating. Not much was led but what was, was good! Back to the room where some rude people would not hold the elevator door and we had to wait till it came back. We didn't beat them out. Ended up out of the parking lot just behind them. Oh well...the bus lost us in town.
On down the road we decided not to go to the castle...

Today after the breakfast of champions (flan), Christina took us to the airport where we picked up the car to begin our tour of Ireland. The backward stick shift was getting both me as passenger and Angie as driver. It takes both of us to drive that car! Angie drives and I'm spotter and map reader.
On the way to Waterford we saw signs for two funny named cities: Kilkenny and Kilcullen. If you look at the map there are alot of places with the "Kil" prefix. Don't know really what it means but they were funny !
It didn't take long to get to Waterford and after three trips over the main bridge...

Today we went out to the beach area near the coast. Omgosh! It was super cold today because the wind was blowing so hard there. The sea spray was in the air and the wind would knock you backwards! We initially went to see the seals by the fish docks at Dun Laghoire. Angie saw the seals over the edge but I couldn't get that close because I was fighting the wind. Angie said she could not breathe the wind was blowing so hard! The ferry goes out of there back to England too nearby.
Next we ended up at the James Joyce tower Sandy Cove. There we walked out to the 40 foot baths. It's this shear...

Verizon is at it again...I wanna know why consumers keep getting tracked by every big company out there?! It would be a little different if their services were being provided for free and supported by advertising. But we pay our hard earned money to these guys and this is how we are rewarded? Here's how to opt out and keep your location data private:Log into your Verizon account --> click on "My Verizon" --> Under My Profile click "View All" --> Scroll to the bottom and click "Manage Privacy Settings"The following page will have 3 sections with 3 save buttons. Make sure to click on the +'s and -'s to get all 3. One is well...
